Hojicha ほうじ茶 SHIZUOKA
Hojicha (ほうじ茶) is a delicious rich and nutty blend of Sencha and Bancha teas. Because the tea leaves are brown and the brew has an orange color, it does not look like a typical green tea.
During the production process after the steaming the tea leaves are roasted at a high temperature about 200 °C and immediately cooled. Roasting allows the caffeine to sublimate, making the tea milder and sweeter . Thanks to its very low caffeine level and mild taste of roasted chestnuts and cocoa, Hojicha is very popular with children and older people.
Brewing conditions:
Amount of tea leaves: 3-4 g
Amount of water: 150 ml
Water temp.: 90 degrees
Brew for: 1 min.
You can brew the same tea leaves up to 3 times!
