About tea:

Gyokuro (玉露, literally translates as jade dew) is a shaded tea and is considered to be one of the highest grades of green tea in Japan. At least 20 days prior to harvesting, the tea leaves are shielded from sunlight, which stops photosynthesis. As a result there is more L-theanine in the leaves, what gives the final product more of the sweet umami taste. Due to its production process, it is one of the most expensive types of Japanese green tea. The brew is greenish, with a lot of sweet umami flavor and refreshing aroma.

Sencha ( 煎茶) is the most popular of all green teas made in Japan. The brew of Sencha has a greenish golden color and a mild mellow taste. This tea is very rich in C vitamin, microelements and antioxidants, especially catechins, which help our body to maintain youth and protect cardiovascular system. Catechins positively affect the digestion system, which is why we recommend to drink Sencha 30 min after meal. Due to its mild taste, it goes well with food, especially tempura and seafood.

Summer-orange Sencha is a blend of a high quality Sencha tea leaves from a spring harvest with the dried peel of summer-orange fruit to give the drink a more flavorful experience. Rich taste with a pleasant sweet note and smooth texture.

Premium Bancha Fukamushi (深蒸し茶) is a deep-steamed tea. The leaves immediately after picking are treated with hot steam for longer than usual time to stop the oxidation process and maintain balanced taste, high nutrition level as well as bright green color.

Duration of the steaming process has a strong impact on the final taste – more intensified flavor and less bitterness. The brew is darker in color with more residue on the bottom of the cup. And this is definitely not a disadvantage!

Genamicha (玄米茶) – Bancha and Sencha tea leaves mixed with fried brown rice (genmai), which can be popped. That is why Genmaicha is sometimes called “popcorn tea”.

The prepared tea has a light yellow color and very mild taste of nuts and roasted rice, which balances astringency of the tea. It is very popular with children and elderly people. It is low in caffeine. In Japan often consumed before breakfast, this tea is perfect for soothing our stomach.

Hojicha (ほうじ茶) is a delicious rich and nutty blend of Sencha and Bancha teas. During the production process the tea leaves are roasted at a high temperature about 200 °C and immediately cooled. Roasting allows the caffeine to sublimate, making the tea milder and sweeter . Hojicha is very popular with children and older people.
